I actually said this in my OP already that it is vortex. There is no point in me for installing any mods through vortex if the game itself refuses to even launch in vortex without ANY mods installed at all.

I had at one point the 4gb patch installed on vortex but i have since deleted it as i found out i don't need it on Vortex. I don't have a single mod installed, i don't have any mods on this computer installed. New Vegas runs perfectly find within steam and through the FalloutNVlauncher, it refuses to launch within vortex as i keep getting that error code.

Just a fresh install of Nev Vegas, will it run when launching it via Steam?Īlso the 4GB patch MUST be installed manually, not with a mod manager, or it will not properly install. Will New Vegas run with NO mods installed? That means no New California or nvse, or any other mods. Not sure why you mentioned vortex at all.įor the record.

Is that correct? Because your first post is kind of confusing. Originally posted by Ez Duzit:So Vortex actually has nothing to do with it. Getting vortex to even run New vegas while every other game is perfectly runnable. That is my problem, not learning how install mods or use vortex. New vegas on the other hand won't even launch. i have witcher 3 afterall installed and can heavily modded it without any problems. honestly didn't help me as I believe i don't even need the tutorial as I'm way passed that part. The tutorial videos are well done and will most likely solve your problem.

You can skip to about 2 minutes in which is right after you installed vortex on your C: drive and opened it for the first time, and how to properly set it up so it works even if your games are on another drive. I think there's 4 of em and they're only 8 or 9 minutes long and cover everything clearly enough to get you up and running on Vortex with a much better understanding of how to properly use it as your mod mgr. Originally posted by Ez Duzit:Just forget any confusing things people will say on the forum as it can be hard to explain, but easy if you just watch Gopher's tutorial on using Vortex. I don't have NVSE do i need it to run NV through vortex? I know i will probably need it to run some mods, but i haven't even reach that point if i can't even launch the game through vortex.

I can't get NV to even run through vortex. I check hidden and it hides everything actually not entirely sure whats going on but it doesn't really matter. Originally posted by ryugin93060:Go to your fallout new vegas in the file after steam and common do not open the new vegas game file as there are usaually two new vegas files go to the one that has the game and mods in it but do not open instead right click on it and open properties and go to a section that says hidden and read only as read only will be checked check also on hiddem files then say ok and it will go thru and open all your hidden files which includes fallout new vegas exe you can put that in or if you have nvse you will also be able to go thru vortex and put that in as a tool when you do it play the game with nvse as the tool of choice and your game should work if your nvse or fallout nvse exe is not chooseable that is I hope this s how I got rid of any problems.
